Open your eyes to Dina Ögon in Store VEGA
On March 22, you can thaw your frozen winter heart when Dina Ögon plays their warm, soulful compositions in Store VEGA.
When the band released their nostalgic tones in a completely sold-out Store VEGA back in October last year, time stood still as they unleashed one beautiful melancholic tone after another.
Now they are back and with them they have their third studio album. Orion, who have put a thick line under their distinctive ears for the good melodies. Politiken gave the album a full six stars and wrote in their enthusiastic review:
“You can walk around with a void without knowing it. The music of Swedish Dina Ögon makes me happy in a way I didn't know I had missed. A quiet joy of something gentle and mildly swinging. Absolutely original, but also with a scent of something familiar.”
The listener is greeted by a strong nostalgic vibe through Dina Ögon's experimental sound universe. The band draws inspiration from genres such as bossa nova, jazz, afrobeat and soul and condenses it down into a Swedish magic cube of beautiful melancholy and subtlety.
The band is a love child between a team of extremely competent and experienced musicians who have roots in jazz, improvisation and alternative pop.
Daniel Ögren (guitar) has been a guitarist in Anna Von Hausswolff's band and has released several instrumental solo albums under his own name, which have been praised by critics for their playful and heartfelt DIY productions.
Anna Ahnlund (vocals) has also released several solo albums with her own quirky and beautiful mix of Swedish prog music and folk ballads. She sang on the hit single "idag" on Daniel Ögren's latest album Fasting-92, and that was the beginning of Dina Ögon's musical journey.
