In 2025, Tabloid has been here, there and everywhere. And with impressive success.

Their energetic live performances have been praised by critics. Politiken has called them “one of the country’s most interesting and well-playing young bands.” And then GAFFA released their latest album Hot Gossip five stars and described the release as “an unparalleled cavalcade of emotions”.

Tabloid is a jazz band that is not afraid to appeal broadly with effective compositions and catchy, singable and danceable melodies. The music exudes energy and smartness, and is, according to the band themselves, driven by “fostering nuances and surprising connections.”

Their sound is distinctive and optimistic, a kind of musical ping-pong that takes place between the multifaceted musicians in the band.

The five friends who have formed Tabloid are a handful of Denmark's most talented musicians. The quintet consists of Jonathan Bremer from Bremer/McCoy, Jada's musical right-hand man, Malthe Rostrup on keys, the new jazz generation's most renowned saxophonist, Oilly Wallace, drummer Felix Ewert, and guitarist, composer and initiator Johannes Wamberg.

Together, the five members have released three albums under the name Tabloid. All inspired by 1980s funk and fusion jazz with elements from everything from country to J-pop.

In 2026, the band will go on a Danish tour, where they will conclude the entire cavalcade with an evening at Store VEGA. On February 18, they will seduce the audience with their mixture of laid-back coolness and sexy fusion tones.

Under the stage name Toby Ernest, Tobias Buch-Andersen is known as the former lead singer of the cult trio The Late Great Fitzcarraldos, as well as for his collaborations with artists such as Coco O., Laid Back, Kasper Bjørke, Scratch Massive and Rumpistol. For the past 12 years, he has been based in Los Angeles, where he has worked with artists such as Jack Name and Big Search and released music via Danger Mouse’s label 30th Century Records.

He has previously performed live with Johannes Wamberg and Oilly Wallace from Tabloid, and shares with them a distinct love for groovy, melodic and analogue-based music.
