The Swedish metal machine, known for their theatrical energy and genre-blending sound, will take over Store VEGA on February 10, 2026 – and a show out of the ordinary is in store. With roots in melodic death metal and a visual universe inspired by both circus and nightmare, AVATAR has long since made its mark as one of the most original metal bands on the international scene.

Avatar was formed in 2001 in Mölndal near Gothenburg and has since released nine studio albums, most recently Dance Devil Dance in 2023. The band's sound spans melodic death metal, groove metal and alternative metal – all delivered with a theatrical edge and frontman Johannes Eckerström's iconic clown makeup at the center. Their live shows are equal parts metal show and performance art – and they have played over 1000 shows worldwide.

Most recently, the band celebrated huge success with the single “The Dirt I'm Buried In”, which topped Billboard's Mainstream Rock chart in 2023 - their first #1 in the US ever. The band is currently writing their tenth studio album, which is expected to be released in the second half of 2025. The show at Store VEGA will be a stop on an international tour that is guaranteed to mix hard-hitting riffs, grandiose scenography and the well-known AVATAR madness.
