As DeathbyRomy Thundering up to this year's COPENHELL Festival, the young American broke the mold of what you can expect from the metal festival's program.

For Romy Flores, who is behind the alias DeathbyRomy, does not deliver pure metal – but alternative singer-songwriter with strong notes of industrial, trap, dark pop and R&B: often described as a peculiar musical love child between Lady Gaga and Nine Inch Nails. And that addition to COPENHELL's expression sparked great enthusiasm from the critics.

Metal magazine Devilution gave it five stars and the words:

“One of the big question marks at this year's Copenhell, delivered one of the surprises that the audience can only hope for. (...) It was a concert with many highlights and almost no lows.”

Since she was 15, DeathbyRomy has been producing genre-defying music in the Los Angeles underground scene. She made her official debut in 2017 with the single "Tiempo" and gained international attention for her debut album, HOLLYWOOD FOREVER, from April 2025.

The debut is a painful and angry testament to the often toxic and oppressive environment in LA that Romy grew up in.
