Industrial, indie rock, pop and classical poetry. Sofia Isella 's sources of inspiration are very diverse and include Nine Inch Nails frontman Trent Reznor, Beck, Taylor Swift and the American 60s poet and writer Sylvia Plath – and together they give a good impression of the American comet's fascinating and complex expression.

Isella is a true musical natural, having started playing the violin at the age of three and writing her first lyrics when she was eight. Today, at 20, she can write singer, songwriter, producer, guitarist and pianist on her CV, and her independence and determination to go her own way are underlined by the fact that she self-publishes her music.

The debut EP I'm Not Yours was released back in 2020, and in the following years her popularity on TikTok grew. The attention led to support jobs for Melanie Martinez, Tom Odell, Taylor Swift, and Glass Animals, among others.

In 2024, she released the EP I Can Be Your Mother, and in May 2025 her latest release followed in the form of the EP In Camera. Together, the three EPs give the impression of a unique talent who, in addition to possessing an uncompromising attitude worthy of Billie Eilish, also manages to be theatrical, noisy, intrusive, edgy and catchy.

In Denmark, we haven't yet had the pleasure of the American indie phenomenon, but fortunately that will soon change. On Thursday, May 14, Sofia Isella will be visiting Denmark when she gives a concert in Store VEGA.
