2025 was the year when Figurines finally returned to the Danish stages with gigs celebrating the 20th anniversary of Skeleton. With six concerts at Hotel Cecil and a number of festival appearances, 2025 was a successful concert year for Figurines.

“They played and they sounded better than ever,” wrote Politiken in their 5-star review of one of the year's first concerts at Hotel Cecil. Jyllands-Posten, Soundvenue and GAFFA also followed up with 5-star reviews for the resurgent indie band.

Figurines formed in the mid-90s and released a number of albums throughout the 00s and early 10s. The band received great praise for their exuberant indie rock and went on extensive international tours through Europe and the US for a number of years before the project was put on hibernation in 2011. The band has since resurfaced and is now playing at Store VEGA this spring.

The band's excitement about being back in concert venues across the country is evident. So is the energy they rediscovered in each other as a band. Lead singer Christian Hjelm says in a press release:

“After so many years of concert hiatus, it was of course exciting to see if we could still find a musical language together. Fortunately, that concern was put to shame at almost the first listen. It has been a great pleasure to play together again and rediscover our songs. Now we are looking forward to diving even deeper into the back catalogue..”

“Wonderful. Divine,” wrote Politiken, while Gorgeous also made it onto Soundvenue's Top Tracks and Breakin' Sound lists and hit the airwaves on P3 and P6. Soon after, they played a packed concert in Copenhagen and performed at the Roskilde Festival.

In 2024, the duo, consisting of Marie Louise Persson Bjarnarson and Andreas Enrique Murga, released their critically acclaimed debut album EXP. Gorgeous is now in the studio, working intensively on the follow-up, and expects to release new material in 2026.
