The South African singer-songwriter Bongeziwe Mabandla released amaXesha Remixes this year.

The album is a reinterpretation of the same album that was named "Global Album of the Month" by The Guardian in 2023.

The British newspaper gave it four stars and described the album with the following words of praise: "a deeply moving work that transcends both language and borders."

On amaXesha Remixes as a listener, you enter a renewed sound universe, where Mabandla's singer-songwriter and folk-influenced songs are dressed in electronic genres such as afrotech and afrohouse.

The revisited tracks add new nuances to the original songs, but still with a clear resonance and ear for amaXeshasstrong emotional and intimate expressions.

Bongeziwe Mabandla made his way to A COLORS SHOW in 2023 with the song “sisahleleleni (i)”. The format, which presents musicians' songs in more stripped-down versions, has had visits from big names such as: Olivia Dean, Jacob Collier, Hans Philip and Shaboozey.

Bongeziwe Mabandla has graced the ears of audiences at renowned festivals and stages around the world, including the Cape Town International Jazz Festival, WOMEX in Finland, the Reeperbahn Festival in Germany, and the Oslo World Festival in Norway. Mabandla is also the recipient of several awards, including two South African Music Awards.

On April 11th, it's Lille VEGA's turn to be enveloped in Mabandla's magnetic presence and inciting singer-songwriter gems.
