Melodies from the Scottish Highlands caress VEGA
Tide Lines is a band whose history stretches from the wild expanses of the Scottish Highlands to the beating heart of Glasgow.
In June 2025, they celebrated a landmark moment with their fourth album, Glasgow Love Story, when it landed at No. 1 in Scotland and No. 11 on the official UK album charts – their highest UK charting to date and their third Scottish number one.
The band recorded the album in a converted church on the secluded Isle of Mull, where the rugged Scottish landscape seeps naturally into their sound. As vocalist/guitarist Robert Robertson puts it in their press release:
"We've always felt like our music carries traces of where we're from — the space, the weather, the drama of the Highlands. But it's just as much about connection, about reaching people everywhere."
Now, as they mark ten years together, the story continues with the recently released Glasgow Love Story, which is a tribute to the city they now call home.
The album is, according to Robertson, a love letter to Glasgow. It was here that they began their musical experiments years ago, and the city gave them a stage and an audience. Through the songs, the band paints a poetic portrait of the city – from the many sandstone tenements that glow red in the evening sun, to the quiet rain-soaked streets and the everyday life that unfolds softly for better or worse.
Now entering their tenth year, Tide Lines carry the same hallmarks that first won them fans around the world - poetic lyricism and emotional honesty, brought to life in live shows that often culminate in euphoric celebration.
