BALOOSH unfolds life in the ghetto into sensitive and challenging trap in VEGA
With its dazzling mix of sensitive hip-hop ballads and heavy trap gems, BALOOSH will immerse its audience on April 29th in contrasting stories about life with crime, money and the police.
The Danish rapper, whose hip-hop often contains equal parts melancholy, frustration and empathy, has gained recognition in recent years for his compelling and honest lyrics. In 2024, he released his critically acclaimed debut album Ny Art.
On his debut, he seriously positioned himself on the Danish music scene with a melancholic and thoughtful perspective on a genre and hip-hop culture in Aarhus, which is known for a more aggressive musical expression.
Soundvenue points this out in their four-star review of the debut, where they praise the Aarhusian with the words: “Rarely has a Danish rapper sung as well as BALOOSH.” The Aarhusian artist made his entrance on the Danish music scene five years ago, where he was a supporting part of the DR documentary Ghetto stars. Here he distinguished himself with his plaintive phrasing and deep lyrics. Since then, in addition to his debut album, he has released a long series of singles. Among others, “Psykosebarn” and “Danser med Dæmoner”.
Towards spring, BALOOSH will release more music and in 2025 has once again begun to enrich trap fans with crisp singles like “Nirvana” and “Hvor vi ender dagen”.
