Canadian indie darlings return to VEGA
Men I Trust must be one of the world's most underrated hit groups.
With nearly 8 million monthly listeners on Spotify and more than 700 million streams of their biggest hit, “Show Me How,” the Canadian trio is an international success. But their gently bouncing indie pop, fueled by subtlety and restraint, sounds like the antithesis of quick chart calories.
At the heart of the trio are singer Emma Proulx's light, dreamy vocals, which embrace the listener like a warm sweater. As do the laid-back, sophisticated and slightly psychedelic tones of bassist Jessy Caron and producer and pianist Dragos Chiriac.
After almost four years of recording hiatus, Men I Trust has returned strongly in 2025 with two new albums, Equus Asinus and Equus Caballus, which were released just two months apart. As GAFFA wrote in its 4-star review of the former, “[Men I Trust] continues to soar in familiar air layers,” and together they expand the song catalog with a whopping 27 new tracks.
Men I Trust is also a strong live band that Danish music lovers have enjoyed several times. In 2019, they gave two sold-out shows at Hotel Cecil, and in 2022 they delighted a packed Store VEGA with a concert that GAFFA's reviewer rewarded with 4 great stars.
Now the chance to experience the Canadian indie darlings live is here again soon, when they return to Store VEGA, where they will be on stage with the new songs on June 16, 2026.
