Soar on the wings of indie rock tones with Spawner at Ideal Bar
Three singles, an EP and a critically acclaimed debut album have been released by the up-and-coming indie rock trio Spawner in 2025 alone.
The group is currently enjoying some success, and their debut, Air is Getting Stranger (2025), in particular, has caught the attention of critics - both domestically and internationally.
The single, "Air is Getting Stranger", has been highlighted by CLASH Magazine, and the album of the same name was awarded four sparkling stars by GAFFA. In its review, the latter emphasized Spawner's flair for a condensed, genre-bending songwriting universe and their perfect indie sound:
“Spawner belongs to the genre of indie bands that can make you hallucinate about an extra member. Because even though the music on their debut album, Air is Getting Stranger, often consists of sweeping guitar landscapes, thundering drumming and ethereal vocal harmonies, there are only three musicians in the band.”
And GAFFA continues: “But like the best shoegaze-inspired indie groups, it is actually the strong songwriting behind the melodious amplifier noise that makes the album a successful launch.”
The project, Spawner , is, according to the members themselves, an investigation into how one can create a common fourth through the three-part system. An investigation that opens up as dense vocal harmonies that buzz with folk and country, and that twists and turns between punk and grunge-inspired riffs.
Spawner consists of Johan Danø Hoffmann, Jonas Engell and Ella Moreno Risell, and not ten wild horses can keep the three indie musicians from burning through at Ideal Bar on April 16th to the sound of Air is Getting Stranger.
