Farveblind opens the techno office in VEGA
One of Europe's most exciting electronic acts is back. Like a sharp-edged projectile – aimed straight at the explosive climax of the party – Farveblind sends post-punk electro-shocks through Little VEGA.
In a pulsating sound universe where techno, breakbeats, industrial and postpunk collide in euphoric energy, the three friends behind Farveblind – Jens Asger Lykkeboe Mouritzen, Magnus Pilgaard Grønnebæk and Anders Norre Arendt – will tear you out of the fatigue of the desk and into a heavy, thunderous rave ecstasy.
Farverblind are notorious for their intense and energetic live shows. With an uncompromising approach to composing music that is made for the live stage, they have shaken the ground beneath stages here at home, in Europe and Asia.
After a several-year hiatus from releasing music, the trio is literally dressed in their work clothes – suits, shirts and ties. On May 15th, they will release their debut album. Micro Pleasures led by the album's first single "Salary Man" – a biting techno-house commentary and rhythmic revolt against the trivialities of office life.
On their debut, they turn their attention to the hamster wheel and find the cracks in the system. Micro Pleasures is a tribute to the small moments of freedom amidst the oppressive monotony of everyday life. The suit uniform is new, but the expression is anything but conformist.
Farveblind continues to insist on the boundary-seeking and collective. Micro Pleasures – which was also mixed by Gustav Brunn (Viagra Boys, Yung Lean) – features several guest appearances from Sean Michael Seldorf Flaherty (USERS), k.flay, Elliphant, Jesse Clasen (Foreign Air) and Sebastian Monti, among others. “We want to collaborate with artists – not just singers,” the band says in a press release. “It forces the three of us (Farveblind, ed.) to be creative in new directions and keeps the process going.”
Farverblind released their first EP Boxes in 2019, followed by Mayhem (2021) and All Clubs Are Bastards (2022). Their uncompromising genre hybrid has garnered recognition from leading international media such as The Line of Best Fit and CLASH Magazine, as well as reviewers here at home.
