Review-acclaimed Magdalena Bay takes over VEGA
The alt-pop duo Magdalena Bay are set to return to Denmark as part of their upcoming UK + Europe tour in 2026, starting in early February. They will play their first headline concert in Denmark at Store VEGA.
The concert follows their critically acclaimed performance at Roskilde Festival 2025, where they captivated the Danish audience with surreal visuals and futuristic synth-pop anthems.
The Copenhagen date is part of their ongoing Imaginal Mystery Tour, which supports their acclaimed 2024 album Imaginal Disk.
Earlier this week, Magdalena Bay kicked off a three-night run supporting Billie Eilish at London's O2 Arena on her Hit Me Hard and Soft Tour – further proof of their status as one of pop music's most original and exciting live acts.
Imaginal Disk was released in August 2024 via Mom+Pop Music and is Magdalena Bay's second full-length album – a significant expansion in both sound, narrative and pop understanding. The album was written and produced by the duo themselves, Mica Tenenbaum and Matthew Lewin, and tells a fictional, existential story of transformation, technology and consciousness.
The main character True gets an “imaginal disc” in his forehead – and the journey begins. The concept draws on biology: “Imaginal discs” are the cells that enable a caterpillar to turn into a butterfly.
Here, the idea becomes a richly told pop tale with glittering production, glitchy elements and cinematic visuals. The album includes the singles "Image" (performed on Jimmy Kimmel Live! and remixed by Grimes), "That's My Floor", "Tunnel Vision" and "Death & Romance".
With its sparkling sound, non-linear structure and chaotic excess, Imaginal Disk has been met with widespread acclaim.
