Barselona breathes life into the November darkness in VEGA
Barselona has been a central part of the music map in Denmark for ten years now.
Rud Aslak and Rasmus Theodor debuted with not just one, but two debut albums: Legebørn and Væbnet Hjerte and has since released music with an unparalleled high frequency and an almost constant touring activity.
Their fourth album, Væbnet Hjerte, was released in September 2023 and received a truly stellar reception from the reviewers, with the album being described as both a "generational portrait", "the band's best to date" and "most complete album".
Now Barselona is back. In 2026 they founded their own record label, RRekord, and their first release from there is the single "Udsving", which on its release day, February 20th, was chosen as P3's Unavoidable.
"Udsving" can also be found on an upcoming album, which will see the light of day in the fall of 2026. Rud Aslak and Rasmus Theodor have collaborated with the up-and-coming songwriter Karoline Funder, who sings the duet on "Mørket falder ind", which will be released as a single in March 2026.
For the band's numerous concerts around the country's venues and festivals, Barselona has garnered great reviews, with Soundvenue writing, among other things:
"Rud Aslak was born to be the frontman for the biggest rock band of his generation." and their well-attended concerts at Arena, Roskilde Festival and the Main Stage at Northside have been great, unifying highlights.
Live, Barselona delivers a rock concert that is broad and encompasses everything; from big choruses, bass-heavy beats, fast-paced solos, down to heartfelt piano ballads and group singing.
