Mon Rovîa has challenged the boundaries of modern folk and Americana through his unique “Afro-Appalachian folk” sound. With a childhood marked by fleeing civil war in Liberia and a youth on the move between the Bahamas, Florida and Tennessee, Mon Rovîa’s music is both rooted and rootless – a tribute to survival, identity and reconciliation. Now he can be experienced for the first time on Danish soil when he gives a concert at Store VEGA on January 16th.

Mon Rovîa's music combines acoustic minimalism, West African rhythmic layers and elements of indie folk. Inspired by artists such as Bon Iver, Kendrick Lamar and Fleet Foxes, he balances melodic fragility with lyrical heft – creating songs that feel both intimate and universal.

Mon Rovîa began his musical journey on SoundCloud in 2017 and has since built a loyal following through his four self-produced EPs: Act 1: Displacement, Act 2: Running Boy, Act 3: Communion, and the latest Act 4: AtonementEach release follows a thematic journey through trauma, migration, forgiveness, and personal awakening.

His breakout single “crooked the road.” from 2024 became a viral hit on TikTok and paved the way for a headline tour in the US and a short European tour in May of this year. Now he is fortunately returning to Europe on his “A Place To Gather” Tour in 2026, and Danish fans can look forward to experiencing his intimate show when he takes the stage at Store VEGA on January 16th.
