The award-winning trio Dreamers' Circus returns as curators of Folkets Festival when VEGA once again forms the framework for a full day of celebration of Nordic folk music in all its forms on Saturday, January 17, 2026. Based on the living roots tradition and with an eye towards the future, the festival invites you to a diverse and exciting program of concerts, jam sessions, dances and workshops.

Folkets Festival 2026 places special focus on new generations and boundary-pushing collaborations and presents some of the most visionary voices from the Nordic folk music scene.

VEGA – previously known as Folkets Hus – was built as a meeting place for the people, and with Folkets Festival the house returns to its roots. For decades, VEGA has been synonymous with popular music, but today folk music takes center stage – as a vital and modern art form with something at its heart. The festival is an antidote to outdated notions of what folk music is. It celebrates craftsmanship, aesthetics and community and shows a stage in motion – where old roots get new shoots.
