Mouritz/Hørslev Projektet give out musical endorphins in VEGA
Mouritz/Hørslev Projektet released their latest album in 2021 Lykkelige Mennesker – a power performance of good sound and good songs. Because the album was released while the country was still dealing with the Corona pandemic, it was never followed up properly on the country's live stages. This will finally be remedied when the Mouritz/Hørslev Project sets out on its journey in January 2025 Lykkelige Mennesker-tour and makes its way past VEGA.
Lone Hørslev has written some of the most personal novels and poetry collections of recent times. In the Mouritz/Hørslev Project, Mads Mouritz transforms Hørslev's poetry into unforgettable Danish song treasures, and since their debut in 2007, in collaboration with a permanent star-studded band of musicians, the pair have released four albums.
Mouritz provides a backdrop of rock and pop for the black-haired author's humorous and poetic depictions of love, forest fires and worries about Trump, mercury and surveillance. Stylistically, the band covers a wide range. In certain places the music is reminiscent of sweet Danish 80's pop, in other places it is clear that an extensive range of competent forces from the rock underground lend a hand to the project.
Lykkelige Mennesker hides a treasure trove of solid songwriting skills. The track "Termodragten" has gradually developed into a regular radio hit, and the song has gone from 20,000 to 830,000 plays on Spotify in just one and a half years.
In GAFFA's a four-star review of the album Lykkelige Mennesker for a the magazine called it a "reminder of poetry's defiant beauty".
In concert, Mads Mouritz is flanked by the band that plays on the album and that has helped make all the orchestra's records. Lone Hørslev is not on stage - but in the lyrics and in the spirit.
Don't miss the unique opportunity to see Mads Mouritz and the band play all the songs from the album as well as some of the biggest songs from the back catalogue.
