In purgatory with When COPENHELL Freezes Over
On February 1st, audiences will be handed the keys to the underworld when When COPENHELL Freezes Over unlocks the gates to the capital of hell with thunderous riffs and dark tones.
When COPENHELL Freezes Over is a collaboration between COPENHELL, VEGA and MXD. The six bands have been carefully selected because we believe they are the stars of tomorrow and have what it takes to break through abroad. A large number of international industry professionals have been invited and will be on site at VEGA to attend the concerts and perhaps the new BAEST or Volbeat will be discovered on this very night.
Dark forces are at play when When COPENHELL Freezes Over sends the audience down a hellish spiral of all-encompassing darkness in audience with the devil and heavy and rumbling tones. Prepare to be blown away by music of the hardest calibre with international potential.
LIVLØS:
Danish quintet LIVLØS have released their latest album, "The Crescent King". The album delivers 10 rock-solid songs where thunderous riffs grab the listener and take them on a journey with power, delusion and despair as the thematic sounding board.
The band has just completed their first international tour and shows no signs of slowing down. Likewise, when LIVLØS triumphed at COPENHELL in 2023, the pace was fast, and now, with a double pedal to the metal and "The Crescent King" as the figurehead of their high-energy live show, they're ready to unleash their fierce energy.
VULVATORIUS:
Iron-hard song titles like "FUCK YOU INCEL" and "CUNT WAR" adorn the latest addition to the discography of VULVATORIUS . "VULVATORIUS" is the metal band's self-titled album, which was lifted from the inner circle of hell and into the light earlier this year and received a sea of phenomenal reviews from GAFFA and Politiken, among others.
VULVATORIUS brought this year's COPENHELL to its knees with blood, sweat and terrifying riffs, and the band hammered home their international potential with a seven-inch nail.
802:
Corrosive tones flow from 802 's genre-bending melting pot of heavy metal, shoegaze and ’80s pop, creating a propulsive soundscape of synthesisers, catchy hooks and progressive drums with heavy metal distortion.
802 triumphed at COPENHELL this year and are now ready to establish themselves as an international live act. The trio has already played The New Colossus Festival in NYC and their single "My Girl" premiered on US music media outlet BrooklynVegan.
KŌYA:
Violent tones rotate in KŌYA 's whirlwind of post-hardcore, black metal and shoegaze. The Danish tempo specialists have quickly carved their name into the Danish metal scene with their latest EP, "Fragments".
KŌYA shatters the sound barrier with their wealth of genres and atmospheric elements in a universe of dark and gloomy Scandinavian charm, where clenched fists are united with a twinkle in the eye.
GRADIENCE:
Tremendous musical forces are at play as GRADIENCE unleash their fusion of trap-rap, black metal, metalcore and deathcore. With their EP, "Ironsight", the new Danish duo has created a collection of tracks that both tear the listener in half with an abundance of sonic blows and shake up the emotional register.
The single "The Abyss" was praised by one of the world's biggest metal mags, METAL HAMMER UK, with the words:
"Black metal has evolved immeasurably since the term was coined by Venom over 40 years ago, yet it's always astounding when you find something utterly unique within the genre's confines. Gradience are exactly that, the Danish duo mixing hip hop and explosive black metal with both elements delivered to the highest quality. If the rest of the Ironsight EP is this good, this band will be ones you can't afford to miss."
GUTTERAL DISGORGE:
Sound loops galore line up at GUTTERAL DISGORGE as the band from Aarhus opens the gateway to their slamming death metal. Inspired by bands like Bolt Cutter and Peeling Flesh, GUTTERAL DISGORGE have made it their mission to spread the slam genre on the Danish metal scene. During 2024, the band has released not just one but two EPs in the best DIY style - first "Enthralled By Mutilation" and most recently "The Slamputation Tapes" has been released.
