Tremonti slings solid riffs through VEGA
Mark Tremonti's career has now spanned three decades, 18 albums and thousands of concerts. The large output has not slowed down the pace for the guitarist, singer and songwriter, who wields the guitar as part of Creed and Alter Bridge as well as in his self-titled solo band. And it is with his own band that Tremonti challenges the speakers in Lille VEGA.
Tremonti still uses the guitar as a tool to write his metal-heavy hard rock songs, and the melodies his fingers produce are a bigger focus for him than dedicated practice.
The band's upcoming album, The End Will Show Us How, arriving in January next year, was recorded with producer Michael "Elvis" Baskette (Alter Bridge, Sevendust, Mammoth WVH). Together they have expanded Tremonti's characteristic universe, giving the instrumentation and vocals room to drum their way through the soundscape.
The last time there were new songs from Tremonti was on the album, Marching in Time, which landed in 2021 to great acclaim from critics and fans. The readers of the American magazine Guitar World voted the second song on the album, "Now and Forever", as the best riff of 2021.
In Denmark, Heavymetal.dk gave it 8/10 and wrote the following in their review:
"If you are already a fan of Mark Tremonti's work at Alter Bridge in particular, then there is no way around Marching in Time. It has a lot of the wildness that, for example, Alter Bridge's "Ties That Bind" comes with, and although the sound is very much in the direction of the bands he is otherwise in, Mark Tremonti manages to build on that sound. Marching in Time is simply an excellent hard rock record, which both sets the stage for headbanging and group singing.”
