Cold Gawd

Cold Gawd creates stormy, wounded shoegaze music with a twist of R&B melodies. Inspired by this, Cold Gawd presents a refined and modernized version of the genre.

Californian multi-instrumentalist Matt Wainwright cites the thematic commonality between shoegaze and R&B as a central muse, both obsessed with love, lust and longing in forms that are alternately grand and minor.

In 2024, Cold Gawd returned with their newest and most superb album, I'll Drown On This Earth. From the defiant scream that opens "Gorgeous," the album launches into what singer-songwriter Matthew Wainwright describes as a "go for it" mode, nothing held back and no time wasted.

Soft Blue Shimmer

It's rare for a band name to directly encapsulate its sound, but Soft Blue Shimmer could not be more appropriate and descriptive of the trio's sound universe.

The band formed in 2018 and released their debut EP, Nothing Happens Here, in 2019, followed by the more atmospheric one Heaven Inches Away in 2020.

On their latest album, Love Lives in the Body, due November 2022, the group's soaring and hazy instrumentation sparkles alongside emotional lyrics. Love Lives in the Body is not only a natural progression of the band's previous material, but also an opportunity for lyricist Charlie Crowley to show his most vulnerable side yet.
