Sivert Høyem forges gloomy dark rock in VEGA
With his deep baritone and soulful delivery, Sivert Høyem has sung itself into rock history as one of the Nordic countries' most characteristic voices.
As the frontman of Norway's Madrugada, Høyem helped create one of the country's most significant rock bands. He has since cemented his position as a soloist with a career spanning more than two decades.
For Høyem is one of those rare singers who can make darkness feel infinite. With his dark voice, which trembles with both pain and strength, and his monumental melodies, he has lifted Norwegian dark rock to new heights.
And when the master of darkness returns to VEGA on September 14, 2027, it will be a celebration of the songs that have shaped his long career.
From Madrugada's monumental 'Majesty' to solo favorites like 'Prisoner of the Road', 'Moon Landing' and 'Into the Sea', Høyme's dark universe spans raw rock, where great emotions simmer beneath the surface, to melancholic contemplation, wrapped in exceptional pop rock.
When the Norwegian last visited VEGA, GAFFA proclaimed the concert an “eminent tour de force” from one of “the finest voices in Scandinavia”.
“Rarely have I experienced such a complex set list, which drove the audience through all aspects of Sivert Høyem's back catalogue. (...) It was an evening where no one was disappointed, and where Høyem and his band radiated energy and coolness that I think can only be found high up in the Norwegian forests”, wrote GAFFA's reviewer.
With his regular band on stage, Høyem brings together the threads between the Madrugada classics and the highlights of his solo career in a complete live experience. So let the darkness descend and feel the power of Sivert Høyem's voice when the Norwegian master of darkness once again takes over VEGA.
