SLAYYYTER takes over VEGA with heavy beats and inciting rap
From her groundbreaking, self-titled mixtape in 2019 to her debut album Troubled Paradise in 2021 and 2023’s STARFUCKER, SLAYYYTER has proven herself to be one of the great shape-shifters of our time, taking pop from the past, present and future and twisting it to her own will.
Early successes — “Daddy AF” went from being a viral hit that made SLAYYYTER famous online to featuring in a key scene in the Oscar-winning Best Picture Anora — led to praise from publications such as Billboard, Paper, Variety, Rolling Stone, Pitchfork and others, whilst also securing SLAYYYTER support slots for role models such as Tove Lo and Kesha. But even with all this, SLAYYYTER decided that something didn’t quite feel right. She chose to become who she had always been deep down: WOR$T GIRL IN AMERICA.
SLAYYYTER’s third album is her most authentic expression to date and also presents her most fully realised creative direction. She returned to her upbringing in St. Louis and decided to make “iPod music” — a free-wheeling mishmash of wild punk, weathered pop and cheeky rap — conjuring up “Midwest-core tweaker bar rat” characters from her youth.
The early singles “BEAT UP CHANEL$,” “CANNIBALISM!” and “CRANK” gradually built up hype around the project throughout 2025, with fans eagerly embracing the raw and confident SLAYYYTER who rose from the ashes of her former selves. WOR$T GIRL IN AMERICA is both a revelation and an evolution — a dismantling of the SLAYYYTER we thought we knew, so that the “real” SLAYYYTER can be born.
Here in Denmark, audiences at the Roskilde Festival in 2022 were introduced to SLAYYYTER. Now she is finally returning to Denmark to present her new tracks, accompanied by the best bangers from her back catalogue, on 22 October in Store VEGA.
SLAYYYTER has partnered with PLUS1, so 10 kr. from every ticket sold goes to local organisations working to support the health, wellbeing and empowerment of LGBTQI+ communities.
