Marathon was born out of the raw energy of Amsterdam’s underground scene, where the sharp edges of post-punk and the atmosphere of shoegaze merge into a universe where emotion and energy are given free rein.

In spring 2025, Marathon released their long-awaited debut album Fading Image.

On the album, the band explores themes such as transience and resilience through haunting melodies and introspective lyrics. Here, darkness and melancholy meet the hope of new beginnings.

Since the release, things have moved quickly for the Dutch post-punk band. With a sold out tour in their home country and an extensive European tour, Marathon has built a reputation for being equally intense and present on stage.

Through their music, Marathon seeks to capture the anxiety and unrest of the 21st century with hard hitting drums, raw vocals, and a distinctive bassline that together create a massive and immersive wall of sound.

On November 15, Marathon takes over Ideal Bar at VEGA and invites the audience into an unforgettable live experience.
