Synthpop legends drape VEGA in bright colours
The Human League last visited VEGA in 2018, delivering danceable tunes to a festive crowd, and now they're ready to repeat the success.
The Human League played a pivotal role in the 1980s new wave and electronic music revolution and the band's original line-up of Phil Oakey, Ian Craig Marsh and Martyn Ware combined pop and post-punk on the band's first two albums Reproduction and Travelogue.
After this, the band underwent a transformation: Oakey remained lead singer while the other two members were replaced by Joanne Catherall and Susan Anne Sulley. This line-up was hugely successful as they began to implement elements of electronic music into their sound, breaking through with the iconic album Dare, which featured the mega-hit "Don't You Want Me".
Since then, the band has toured the world extensively, evolving their sound without losing their electro-pop signature. As a result, they have built up a solid fan base. After more than 30 years in the music business, nine albums under their belt, and a possible tenth album on the way, The Human League have cemented their place as a major name in pop music history
