The William Blakes celebrate the magic of imperfection in VEGA
The band's 11th studio album, TIGER BY THE TAIL, has just been released. The release is about daring to let go of control and taps directly into a modern reality characterized by unrest, major life transitions and existential search.
The album will prove that magic happens when control is let go and raises the question: Is perfectionism really modern society's biggest creative obstacle? Lead singer Kristian Leth says in the press release:
“We don’t think anyone wants a world where machines do for us what we would otherwise find our humanity in. Right now, machines are stealing our music, books, and art, blending it, and giving it away for free.”
TIGER BY THE TAIL stands as a striking counterpoint to a musical landscape dominated by algorithms. It is an anti-AI album. Not because The William Blakes are terrified of technology, but because with the record they draw a line in the sand: The machines can assist and inspire, but the soul of music arises when people communicate directly with each other.
For more than 30 years, the four band members, Kristian Leth, Fridolin Nordsø, Bo Rande and Frederik Nordsø, have played together. They released their debut album in 2008 with Wayne Coyne and have simultaneously created major international solo careers.
Yet they are regularly drawn towards the special unity of The William Blakes and are now ready with a new chapter in their unique universe. On June 4th you can experience them at Lille VEGA.
