Brooklyn icons DIIV bring their groundbreaking new album to Lille VEGA on 16 June, filling the venue with mesmerising sonic colours.

One of the most innovative names on the American indie rock scene, DIIV are finally returning to VEGA, bringing their brand-new album ZIRP!, set for release on 30 October.

The album is the quartet’s fifth full-length release and, according to the band, their most energetic, sharp-edged and pop-driven record to date. ZIRP! was created in collaboration with British sonic wizard A.G. Cook, best known for his acclaimed work with celebrated pop artists Charli XCX and Caroline Polachek.

With their fifth studio album, ZIRP!, the band definitively enters a new era of their own making, which they call “The New Alternative”.

Together, they have created a sonic universe where social criticism, the absurdities of the streaming age and dystopian themes are transformed into vibrant, monumental rock and pop songs packed with hooks.

Since their breakthrough with the outstanding and critically acclaimed debut album Oshin in 2012, Zachary Cole Smith, Andrew Bailey, Colin Caulfield and Ben Newman have been known for their uncompromising, dreamlike soundscapes. Over the years, they have woven raw shoegaze and noisy grunge together with irresistible, catchy pop melodies.

DIIV are renowned for their hypnotic and intense live performances, where waves of dreamy guitars go head-to-head with heavy, hard-hitting rhythms. On 16 June, you can experience them live at Lille VEGA.
