Bluai are bringing their upcoming album The Way You Sound Reminds Me to VEGA, ready to treat audiences to an intimate performance at Ideal Bar.

Rooted in indie folk and alternative pop, the Antwerp-based trio—consisting of Catherine Smet, Mo Govaerts, and Caitlin Talbut—have, in just a few years, evolved from one of Belgium's most promising new acts into an internationally acclaimed live band.

The project first began in Catherine Smet's teenage bedroom. Nearly seven years later, Bluai emerged as a fully formed band, transforming those intimate beginnings into a shared musical identity shaped by common influences and a strong sense of togetherness on stage.

Within their very first year, the trio won Belgium's three leading music competitions, including Studio Brussel's De Nieuwe Lichting. The victories earned them national radio airplay and festival bookings, and since then Bluai have established themselves as a fixture on both Belgian radio and the country's live music scene.

At the same time, the band gained international attention through a series of showcase performances across Europe and the UK, where they were named a "band to watch" by both Rolling Stone UK and The Independent. Following an extensive tour in support of their 2024 debut album, Save It For Later, the trio are now ready to embark on their next chapter.

Their sound remains intimate and heartfelt, while becoming more immediate and direct—shaped in no small part by the countless hours the band have spent together on the road and on stage.
