Australian disco crooner takes over VEGA with brand new tracks
The popular cult musician Donny Benét, who mixes crisp disco beats with heartfelt croon, will give a concert on September 23 in Store VEGA with the songs from his new EP "Il Basso” and classics from the back catalogue.
There is only one Donny Benét. By combining the best of 70s disco and boogie with emotional crooning – performed with a giant wood snail, variegated shirts, bright suits and enigmatic appeal – the seasoned Australian has created his very own musical parallel universe.
Donny Benét's expression is tight, playful, flirtatious and romantic, and beneath the polished beats, sparkling synth surfaces and gently massaging bass lines lies an infectious vitality and love for both the music and the opposite sex. It's music for the beach party, the dance floor and late nights on crumpled sheets.
As early as 2011, the Australian cult musician made a name for himself in his homeland with his debut album "Don't Hold Back". Since then, his star has grown and grown, not least through the last two albums. Mr Experience (2020) and Infinite Desires (2024), which has made him an international name, which has also set the hearts of passionate music lovers on fire here at home.
In 2024, he seduced a completely sold-out Pumpehuset including GAFFA's reviewer, who awarded the concert 5 stars and praised Benét for his "irresistible charm". The following year, he visited NorthSide, where the same media honored his efforts with a solid 4 stars and the conclusion: "Donny Benét is a guarantee of naughty moments and feel-good energy".
Donny Benét just released the instrumental EP Il Basso, where he greedily explores the seductive potential of the bass. To celebrate his new release, Benét and his regular band are jumping on the tour bus, which will swing by Denmark this fall. Here it will stop in Store VEGA on September 23, where the Australian disco unique will give his largest Danish indoor show to date.
