Dutch Jozef Van Wissem is a musical explorer in his own right. With the lute as his main instrument, Wissem explores a wealth of musical territories in an extensive back catalogue consisting of several albums and award-winning soundtracks for both films and games. The versatile musician has collaborated with film director Jim Jarmusch on Only Lovers Left Alive and with Pierre Creton on the film A Prince from 2023. And Wissem is now back with a new addition to the discography in the form of the album The Night Dwells in the Day (2024).

Wissem has created unique musical universes that unite Renaissance and Baroque lute music with electronic tones. Wissem's fusion of the classical and the modern is spiced with a keen ear for a meditative and intense soundscape that spins the listener into a musical trance.

Jozef Van Wissem's approach to music has attracted international attention, with The Quietus, among others, recognizing his ability on his musical instrument, saying: "probably the most famous lutenist in the world".
