Fenja decorates VEGA with poetic folk pearls
"A powerful performance of Danish-language poetry" - this is how Fenja's debut album turned out Escaped animals mentioned by the radio hosts when it flowed out of the speakers in 2021. Fenja marked with her debut that she is a songwriter with something on her heart.
Fenja s lyrical universe has been rewarded and recognized for its quirky and poetic tone. Among other things, she received AUTOR's upcoming prize in 2021 with words of praise for her unique and vulnerable lyrical universe, which has touched both critics and listeners. Dagbladet Information described Fenja's songs as poignant, and about her strong vocals they said, "that it sounds like it comes from an almost spiritual being, (Lufthuller)".
The desire to write songs and convey emotions through music extends from childhood and further into life. At just 12 years old, Fenja wrote her first song, which was about a dying polar bear as a result of climate change. The song became the tone for the big and existential topics Fenja brings up in her lyrics.
The media outlet, Kvinde Kend Din Pop, praised Fenja's performance at SPOT festival this year, saying: "her already accomplished universe, which revolves around nature, existence and the courage to go her own way, gives her the potential to become a generational voice."
Fenja was selected for the 2024 Career Cannon with her song "Brænder for noget".
Fenja played support for Norwegian world star Aurora at Store VEGA in 2022, but on February 27th, Fenja's name will be at the top of the bill when she shares her well-oiled folk-pop at VEGA.
