Electronic embraces in VEGA with Real Lies
Through Patrick King's acid house-inspired productions and Kevin Lee Kharas' vocals, the duo create a soundtrack that is perfectly suited for the late night hours. Real Lies has been compared to 80s legends New Order and 00s dominant The Streets. The sound of these two artists is transferred with perfection into a sound of the 2020s that has a nostalgic feel.
The latest release from Real Lies is the group's second collaboration with Australian Mall Grab. "Ripples In The Timeline" is built on a four-on-the-floor beat, brilliant synthesizers and a fat bass line.
In the band's press text, they themselves describe their music as:
"A night bus fever dream of assembling a street gang of late-night dreamers (some living, some dead) known as "The Birds" to take on the amassed forces of "The Grids" - terminally online alpha male misanthropes, narcissist influencers, morality police, bougie fusspots, Gulf hyper-capitalists, the so-called 'Nerd Reich', time, the markets, the algorithms, the dull, the twee, and the boring.”
This interesting description of their soundscape gives an indication of how the political plays a role in their lyrical universe. Surrender to their electronic embrace on February 22 in Lille VEGA.
