Electronic demonstrations of power with Elsked in VEGA
In March, it released Elsked the single “Ozon”, which invites the listener into a beautiful and trashy universe. The song’s drop has everyone spinning out on the club’s sweaty dance floor.
With a pulsating heart of heartfelt melodies and sweaty electronic beats, Elsked has been catapulted into the Danish radio airwaves, where they have received massive airplay. This year, the trio brought the Eos stage at Roskilde Festival to a boiling point with their eminent sense of the meeting between the static and the ecstatic. Soundvenue wrote in their four-star review of the concert:
“There is no doubt that Elsked are children of the club. Their songs testify to a thorough understanding of how the perfect dance floor balances on a knife edge between climax and steady state. If everything peaks, nothing peaks.”
With magnificent vocal arrangements, pumping rhythms and abysmal synth bass lines, the self-proclaimed electronic boyband has created a distinctive expression that culminated in the sharp EP Pirate radio from 2023.
Elsked's sound universe is full of contrasts, which is also the definition of their debut EP. The productions are driven intensely by pumping club rhythms, sizzling percussion and synthesizers that sound both 90s-nostalgic and like a distant future at the same time. The deep singing voice and the church choir arrangements give a grandiose effect, supporting the lyrical themes of love and the art of letting go.
The title song on Pirate radio is about removing one's life experiences and opening up to a newborn consciousness. In several ways, the EP revolves around rethinking oneself, just as the music is a refreshing renewal of the electronic genre in Denmark.
One year after Elsked played their first ever concert at SPOT Festival, they will hit Store VEGA on May 3rd with their sparkling, electronic pop.
