American singer/songwriter and guarantee of sunny tones, Pokey LaFarge, with his ear for surf-inspired and solid tropical rockabilly songwriting, has created a universe that is undeniably musical balm for the soul.

LaFarge has a string of releases behind him; including the cut In The Blossom of Their Shade from 2021, who made sunglasses a must-have in The Guardian editorial office with their dazzling review and five sparkling stars. Last year, LaFarge added another cut of sublime, colorful and airy Americana, Rhumba Country.

On Rhumba Country LaFarge mixes genres from widely different eras and corners of the world, including mambo, tropicália and American rock-and-roll, and Brazilian singer and composer Jorge Ben Jor in particular is one of the most important sources of inspiration on the album. LaFarge's versatile curiosity for music therefore plays a crucial role in shaping the album's inciting and captivating sound.

According to the musician himself, the music is an invitation to meet and celebrate life and love, and about the nature of songwriting, LaFarge says: "The songs that come naturally to me are optimistic and make you want to dance or at least bang your head - they are all very colorful."
