American band Weezer is known for their nerdy power pop and melodic indie rock, which, thanks to their characteristic fuzz guitar sound, humorous lyrics and catchy hooks, has given them cult status worldwide.

The group celebrated the 30th anniversary of their iconic self-titled debut album last year. Weezer– also known asthe Blue Album- which featured huge hits like "Buddy Holly", "Undone (The Sweater Song" and "Say it Ain't So". The celebration came in the wake of their sold-out 'Indie Rock Road Trip' tour, which did not include a Danish visit. In fact, it is a rare opportunity to experience the rock band on Danish soil when they visit Denmark twice this summer.

Weezer, fronted by the notoriously nerdy Rivers Cuomo, formed in Los Angeles in 1992 and have sold more than 35 million records worldwide. They have released no fewer than 14 studio albums, including records such as Pinkerton from 1996 and Weezer (Green Album)from 2001 helped write Weezer into rock history with songs like “Pink Triangle”, “Island In The Sun” and “Hash Pipe”.

However, the creative band has not only distinguished themselves with their music, but also with their creative, visual language. In 2009, the group won their first GRAMMY in the category 'Best Short Form Music Video' for the video for "Pork And Beans" from their 2008 album Weezer (Red Album).

The Californian quartet has generally not been on the lazy side in their now long career. In 2021, two full-length albums from Weezer landed, namely the more orchestral and pop album OK Human and that something different Van Weezer, which was a tribute to the group's roots in the metal genre. The single "All My Favorite Songs" from OK Human turned out to be one of the biggest rock hits of 2021 and was also nominated for a GRAMMY in the category 'Best Rock Song' the following year.

Weezer has generally been a recurring name at the prestigious GRAMMY awards, where both the album Weezer (White Album)and Pacific Daydream has been in the running for the award for 'Best Rock Album'.
