American hit band celebrates album anniversary in VEGA
One of the biggest stars of the music year 2005 was undoubtedly The Fray. A rock-solid four-piece with classic rock swag, well-placed guitar riffs and soaring choruses, who with their debut album How to Save a Life In a short time, it went from being a local phenomenon in Denver, Colorado to becoming an international hit sensation.
In the early 2000s, the group hit local radio with the song “Cable Car” – later renamed “Over My Head (Cable Car)” – which caught the attention of Epic Records (Fleetwood Mac, Creed, Indigo Girls). They signed The Fray, and in September 2005 the result was the group’s neoclassical debut album. How to Save a Life.
The first single "Over My Head (Cable Car)", which evokes memories of melodic colleagues such as Coldplay, Keane, The Killers and Counting Crows, climbed to 8th place on the US singles chart, but at the same time the title track attracted attention through placement in the TV series "Grey's Anatomy" and "Scrubs". "How to Save a Life" was subsequently released as a single, and was a massive hit in both the US and abroad.
The debut album was also a massive commercial success. It reached the top 10 in the UK, Australia, Canada and on the US Top Rock Albums chart, and has received platinum records in the US, Australia, Canada, New Zealand and the UK.
The Fray have released a total of four studio albums and still have a large following, as evidenced by the band's 13 million monthly listeners on Spotify. For many of them, How to Save a Life holds a special place in their hearts, and that is why the group has chosen to mark the 20th anniversary of their debut with a special "How To Save A Life: The 20th Anniversary Tour".
On Friday, November 7, The Fray's Danish fans can join the celebration party when the group gives a concert at Store VEGA.
