Rising singer-songwriter Jasmine.4.t has just released her beautiful debut album, You are The Morning, produced by American supergroup Boygenius and released on Phoebe Bridger's label Saddest Factory Records.

The album was written during a turbulent time in the singer-songwriter's life when she divorced, came out as transgender and lived a nomadic existence on the couches of friends and acquaintances. She told music magazine Rolling Stone:

"My first EP [(2019's Worn Through) came out pre-transition, and then I got really sick during Covid and transitioned while having long Covid. I left an abusive marriage and was homeless for a period after I wasn't accepted by my family."

You are The Morning explores the transformative period in the songwriter's life. Through soulful songs that masterfully blend genres such as indie pop, folk and alternative rock, Jasmine.4.t opens up an achingly beautiful space where she conjures moving stories about her new life as a trans woman and the departure from her former life.

Songwriting is a way for her to process her feelings and thoughts while giving voice to a larger trans community. The result is a melodic, haunting and well-reviewed album that received a 9 out of 10 from The Line of Best Fit.
