Von Quar returns to VEGA with hooligan rock and sectional atmosphere
There was national singing and charismatic football energy as Von Quar At the beginning of April, the roof of the intimate concert room in Ideal Bar blew off. The orchestra has outgrown its own football jersey in record time and requires more elbow room to perform their stadium anthems. That's why Von Quar will play in VEGA once again on November 7th – this time in Lille VEGA.
Although Von Quar has so far only released two official singles in the form of the song "Forår" and "Alt Hvad Jeg Vil", they are already well on their way to becoming one of Denmark's most talked about live orchestras.
The band writes Danish-language rock music with a universe of hypnotic synths, hard-hitting drums and loud vocals inspired by the energy of a football stadium. And when Von Quar blasts beyond the live rafters, the band on stage – which also includes an entire brass section – may well be the size of an entire football team.
The band themselves call their style hooligan rock, which draws on the atmosphere and sense of community at major sporting and stadium events. Mastermind Mikkel Øster transforms his passion from a youth spent in the football stands, where he himself acted as a beater and drummer, into a musical universe that draws on both rock, punk and rave culture.
Von Quar's fan base and hype have grown exponentially thanks to extraordinary concerts, a very special live energy and a clear musical vision.
