Primal Scream's alternative rock hurricane blows into VEGA
On June 6, 2025, Primal Scream will fill Store VEGA with their genre-bending musical universe.
Primal Scream has not been the most frequent visitor to Denmark so far. The last time the group performed in the kingdom was in 2019 and it has been 14 years since Primal Scream powered VEGA with their accurate and unique sound. It will therefore be a long-awaited reunion when the band gives a concert at Store VEGA this summer.
With the tireless Bobby Gillespie at the front, the energetic rock band from Scotland has always preached infectious rhythms in a unique melting pot of sizzling alternative rock with detours to genres such as neo-psychedelia, house and indie rock.
The discography stands as a monument to Primal Scream's versatility and musical elasticity, with albums such as Screamadelica (1991), Vanishing Point (1997) and XTRMNTR (2000). Screamadelica in particular has emerged as a sparkling star from the back catalogue with strong and inciting singles such as “Movin' on up”, “Loaded” and “Come Together”.
Last year, Primal Scream once again flashed on the musical radar with the album Come Ahead (2024). The record is the band's first effort since 2016 and the death of band member Martin Duffy. On Come Ahead, the Scottish rockers speak fluent Primal Screamsk' with their musical devotion to a genre-bending sound universe with a razor-sharp ear for songs that exude momentum and the danceable; the group's love of soul and funk beats in particular stands out on the record.
The music media NME enthusiastically gave the album four stars, and Mojo Magazine showered praise upon its release with the words: “A triumph in thematic/aural juxtaposition, Come Ahead is up there with Primal Scream's best.”
The audience can look forward to being blown away when Primal Scream returns to Store VEGA with their original and colorful alternative rock hurricane.
