Kragetær + Jensen & Bugge invites the Ideal Bar to dance
Kragetær:
For the musical trio Kragetær The core of folk music is what brings them together as a band. With all sorts of acoustic instruments such as guitar, accordion and bouzki, the group creates their very own artistic interpretation of folk music.
It is important to Kragetær that the music is based on the Nordic dance tradition, after which it is infused with ideas and inspirations from the deep popular music tradition.
Lyrically, Kragetær is challenging and exploratory, balancing the ugly and vulgar with the gentle and poetic. Their well-considered lyrics stand out clearly on their latest album. Kragetær - Calibrators (2025), which contains two EPs of their new compositions.
With dance-friendly melodies and experimental lyrics, Kragetær is ready to transform Ideal Bar into a Nordic folk festival on September 13th.
Jensen & Bugge:
The folk music duo Jensen & Bugge have been playing together for over 20 years. As part of the anniversary celebration, their new CD was released Greatest HitsIt contains some of the greatest and most well-known and beloved folk music numbers, which have been lovingly treated. Numbers by Evald Thomsen, Frederik Iversen, Bror Kalles Kapel, Reventlow and Rasmus Storm, yes the list is long.
With joy of playing and virtuosity, the audience is led through concerts and dances with anecdotes, humor and music. Danish tradition at its best, and it opens up to the wide world. And the duo has been out into the wide world with Danish folk music. From Japan and South Korea in the east to the USA and Canada in the west – and also everything in between.
The duo received a Danish Music Award in 2012 and was nominated for a YAMaward for the world's best children's concert in 2016 – and came second in the audience award! And then there's the whole adventure with Dwight Lamb – an American descendant of the legendary Danish folk fiddler Kræn Jerup!
Jensen and Bugge consists of: Mette Kathrine Jensen Stærk on accordion and Kristian Bugge on violin.
