Behind Polite is singer and songwriter Karina Kaleda. With roots in folk and indie rock, Polite moves in a sound universe where soft vocals, playful synthesizers and distorted guitar themes merge. The colorful soundscape contrasts with the darker lyrics, which revolve around themes such as generation gaps, vulnerability and inner heritage. Although Kaleda has been writing songs her entire life, she has, until recently, kept them to herself.

The debut single "Analysis Paralysis", released earlier this year on the Copenhagen label Konkylie, was met with enthusiasm from listeners, radio stations and music media alike. After Polite's concert at SPOT Festival, DR P6 Beat referred to Big Thief, while Soundvenue called Polite "the people of the future", drew parallels to Aldous Harding and The Weather Station and described the music as "effective folk rock with a hypnotic, almost psychedelic edge and impressionistic lyrics filled with cryptic images".

After three singles with airplay, Polite now announces her debut EP, 'The Green House Has Been Asking About You', which will be released in September 2025. This September, you can take the pulse of the Copenhagen music scene at Ideal Bar with Polite - a name that you will hear a lot more about in 2025 and 2026.
