Soar on indie pop tones from Lowly in VEGA
The Danish indie pop masters from Lowly are back with new music. And to mark the occasion, they will be stopping by Store VEGA on February 13th next year.
With the new single “Liminal Space,” Lowly delves into what we pass down from generation to generation, asking the question of how what we carry ourselves doesn’t become a weight on our children’s shoulders. “Liminal Space” will be released on May 19, 2026 via Bella Union, along with an experimental music video, where Lowly showcases the song together on a Zoom call.
The song unfolds as an intimate, intense and gentle pop ballad with many layers and details that open up with repeated listening. Crisp drums, distorted guitars, synths and noisy outbursts meet with Soffie Viemose's warm vocals.
The drums don't settle into a steady beat, and the guitars suddenly break into the song's structure, while Soffie Viemose asks: "could there be a safe spot right here?"
With all the band members having become parents, they now look at their children and are faced with explaining to them the serious state of the world, how we are currently treating each other and nature, and with a feeling that the adults are nowhere to be found.
Lowly is just as worried about the future as you are. But maybe listening to beautiful music can help you forget about it. Just for a moment.
In 2023, Lowly played at Store VEGA. A concert that the music media outlet Undertoner reviewed under the headline: "In a tour de force of a concert at VEGA, the indie quintet channelled their confident ability to command sound and energy in spectacular fashion."
The band started their musical journey back in 2014 and has since released a string of albums - most recently with Keep Up The Good Work (2023). And next spring you can experience them in Store VEGA to the sound of new music.
