Madison Cunningham is often called "the musicians' musician", and the list of declared fans also includes both John Mayer and Fleet Foxes lead singer Robin Pecknold.

The fact that she has collaborated with and written for other musicians for over a decade should not, however, overshadow the fact that her solo career has moved in one direction since she debuted in 2014 with the album "Authenticity": Upward.

Her second studio album Who Are You Now? (2019) was nominated for a Grammy for “Best Americana Album,” but Cunningham’s big break came with 2022’s Reveal.

Here she crafts superbly beautiful song creations from inspiration from folk, pop, jazz, Afro-pop and Latin American music. The Guardian also gave her the maximum 5 stars for her “astonishing voice and intuitive melodies”, while The Line of Best Fit gave the album an 8 out of 10 and called it “a compelling blend of folky Americana”. And at this year’s Grammy shows she took home the award for “Best Folk Album”.

After a three-year solo album hiatus – and the joint album Cunningham Bird (2024) with Andrew Bird – Madison Cunningham is now ready with her fourth solo album. It is titled Ace, and will be released on October 10th.

The excellent singles “My Full Name” and “Wake” (with guest vocals from the aforementioned Robin Pecknold) suggest that another great album experience is in store.

Madison Cunningham has previously given a concert at Ideal Bar in 2022, which GAFFA awarded with 5 five star ratings, and performed as support for John Mayer's visit to the Royal Arena in 2024.

Now she returns to Denmark with her new album in her suitcase when she takes the stage in Store VEGA on February 18, 2026.
