Marie Fjeldsted exhibits unique, musical tableaus in Ideal Bar
Marie Fjeldsted has impressed audiences and critics since her debut as Penny Police with her very special grasp of the pop genre and her unique vocal. Reviewers have drawn parallels to Joni Mitchell, Emilie Torrini, and Susanne Sundfør, but everywhere there is agreement that Fjeldsted is truly one of a kind.
"With roots in genres like dream pop and a touch of electronic rock, Fjeldsted has created a sanctuary where she does not cater to our emotions, but simply creates a space where everything is okay just as it is," wrote GAFFA in '23.
The musician's dazzling presence can be felt in her airy vocals, which despite their immediate gentleness contain immense strength – something that can be felt and invites you into a universe where there is room to be both vulnerable and strong. In May 2023, she released her first album, which was well received both domestically and internationally. It received five stars in Gaffa, was Album of the Week on P4, made it to the Top-10 most played songs on P6 Beat in 2023, and radio host Mikael Simpson said it was "a minor masterpiece".
It will be a very special evening when Marie Fjeldsted, with her band consisting of Linus Valdemar (guitar), Sebastian Martin (keys), David Blomquist (bass), and Nicklas Løvén (drums), takes the stage. Fjeldsted's captivating musical universe effortlessly moves between the grand and the poppy and the intimate acoustic space.
Everything is tied together by Fjeldsted's captivating songwriting and enchanting voice, which is repeatedly praised for getting under the skin of most people.
