The British songwriter and multi-instrumentalist is known for writing organic and intimate songs about both the bright and dark chapters of life. On his upcoming album, False Dogs, she shines through as one of the most uncompromising and honest songwriters of our time.

The album is, according to her, her most personal and complete work to date — created, produced and arranged by herself with a raw, acoustic and unadulterated sound palette. Marika Hackman is known for her distinctive vocals, her subtle guitar figures and her very special lyrical qualities.

Her music often combines organic, acoustic elements with distorted synth surfaces and driven drums. The lyrical universe explores the transitional phases of life, the anxiety, joy and sorrow of adulthood.

With breathtaking honesty, she balances between the dark and the hopeful – from brutally honest reflections on life's great milestones to poignant passages about the small, magical moments of everyday life.

Marika Hackman debuted back in 2012 with the single “You Come Down.” The single was produced by her then-studiomate, folk singer Johnny Flynn. Since then, the eminent songwriter has released four studio albums and toured with names like Laura Marling and Alt-J.
