Norwegian hip hop from the top shelf in Lille VEGA
This autumn, Marstein will release his third solo album, YAP. His most ambitious project to date. The album builds on the songwriter’s ambition to create music that moves naturally across Nordic borders without giving up his own language and identity.
The first taste of what is to come has just arrived with the single “RØDT HVITT BLÅTT”, co-written with Girl In Red.
In September, Marstein will release the second single, “SAVNER ET MENNESKE”, created in collaboration with one of Denmark’s biggest stars, Tobias Rahim.
Marstein has also made a name for himself as an outstanding live performer. At last year’s Spot Festival, he blew the audience away with his energy and stage presence. GAFFA awarded the performance five stars and wrote:
“It takes a special kind of performer to fill one of Spot’s biggest stages on his own, but Marstein pulled it off – both by himself and together with his audience.”
In 2025, Marstein released his second album, FRIHET I LENKER. The album went straight to number one in Norway and reached number nine on Spotify’s album chart in Denmark.
The album’s hit single “SAMMEN”, a duet with Danish pop star Annika, made history as the first Norwegian-language song to reach number one in both Norway and Denmark.
Marstein first broke through as part of the successful rap group UNDERGRUNN. With their ear for sharp melodies and trap-infused hip-hop bangers, the group has been igniting euphoric parties across Norway since 2018.
In 2022, Marstein launched his solo career and has since established himself as one of the most influential artists of his generation.
