Since the release of their debut album Hurt (2015), Los Angeles duo Ruby Haunt have delivered atmospheric dream pop and gentle slowcore. With hushed vocals, expressive guitars and slowly unfolding arrangements, the duo have created a hypnotic sound that feels both intimate and expansive.

In July this year, Ruby Haunt offered the first taste of their forthcoming album Paper Halo (2026) with the single "Big Room". The track explores feelings of longing and the search for something that always seems just out of reach, setting the tone for an album about memories, transformation and the places we return to in search of ourselves.

Although Ruby Haunt's music often wanders down the darker paths of melancholy, the duo themselves are not always quite as sombre. In an interview with Los Angeles-based radio station Hyde FM, they were asked about their creative process and explained:

"I think we are much more lighthearted than maybe the music would let on. We are always joking around or taking breaks to do something outside."

Behind the weight of the music, there is also a more carefree side. On Paper Halo, listeners can therefore explore both the darker and lighter moments hidden within Ruby Haunt's dreamlike universe.
