The Floor Is Lava's playful sound universe makes a comeback in VEGA
After a 13-year concert hiatus, The Floor Is Made Of Lava back – and in 2027 the Danish rock band can be experienced in Store VEGA.
The Floor Is Made Of Lava has been known since the beginning as a band that really comes into its own on stage. With Tobias Kippenberger in the front and a live show driven by high energy, raw rock and a distinctive musicality, the band has previously set fire to everything from Roskilde Festival and Bøgescenen to Store VEGA and small, packed venues.
The band debuted in 2007 with All Juice No Fruit, followed by the gold-certified Howl at the Moon in 2010 and Kids & Drinks in 2012. Each album spawned a P3's Uundgåelige, and the song "Lost in the Woods" became the most played Danish song on P3 in 2012.
Musically, The Floor Is Made Of Lava has never stood still. Across three albums, they have moved from punk and rap-inspired grooves to grand rock songs inspired by Oasis and Bruce Springsteen, among others – and further into a playful universe where both country and doom metal have found a place.
The common denominator is a love of strong melodies, punchy guitars and an energy that balances the violent and boundary-pushing with the immediate and folky. It is precisely this combination that has given The Floor Is Made Of Lava their special personality and made their concerts a central part of the band's history.
