What does jazz sound like in the future?

For the 3rd year in a row, Ideal Bar is occupied by the culture ninjas from JAZZHAUS in Kolding. Jazz is both a community and a common creative space for the young group, who use jazz trends as input to be the backbone of a creative and experimental output. Jazzhaus explores and challenges concert and genre formats, and won P8's "Enthusiast of the Year" award at DMA Jazz 2024, for precisely these qualities.

This Saturday you can look forward to experiencing a program that is curated with equal parts curiosity and enthusiasm, and as a genuine meeting between the outlet in Kolding and the surroundings in Copenhagen.

The keywords are: presence, curiosity, calmness to enjoy, wholeness, tactile aesthetics, gathered in an improvised now, just as jazz is improvised.

The artists you can experience are: Buko, irmelin, Barfoed and nobodygirl.

And in addition, you can look forward to a setting with unique analog visuals, Ideal Bar's immersive sound system, lots of high fives and Jazzhaus' play with contrasting elements that can be connected in the big picture.

Buko:
In a fusion of young energy, fast grooves, strong melodies and wildness, Buko takes you to new musical depths. With self-composed songs that blend genres such as jazz, fusion, pop, brazil and hip hop, the group will invite you to an explosive concert.

irmelin:
In her experimental compositions, Irmelin explores the borderland between the organic and the electronic. With a background in classical music, her compositions encompass everything from cold synthesizers to unique vocals inspired by the European choral tradition.

Barefoot:
With lots of saxophone, push pad and double bass, Barfoed creates an unusual soundscape. Barfoed plays with the sound of the Nordic folk tradition, odd time signatures and electronic beats. You can feel a raw energy in the music that spreads beyond the edge of the stage.

nobodygirl:
nobodygirl delivers an electronic sound with elements from several different genres, including techno, electro, industrial, punk and pop. nobodygirl's universe is pixelated, uncompromising and seductive.
