It all started back in March 2023, when then 17-year-old Annika Wedderkopp began sharing short videos on TikTok of herself playing her own songs on her parents' piano. Like meticulous generational portraits, the lyrics are about everything a young woman experiences when trying to find her way through heartbreak, desperation and anger - and the videos immediately caught the attention of excited viewers across the country.

This summer saw the release of Annika's debut EP, Nye Tider, which continued the promising momentum and was conceived during a specific period in Annika's life. A recognisable life for most young people, but one that Annika manages to put into words like no other: ‘When I listen to the songs, I think: ‘damn, she didn't have it good’. Even though I'm in a different place now, it's all pretty fresh. Writing songs is a sport for me, so everything I write has almost just happened in my own life,’ says Annika and elaborates: ’The lyrics are different images of what it means to be young and heartbroken.’

Just when people thought they were familiar with Annika and her sound, she turned everything upside down in early August when she released the reggae-sounding and Rihanna-inspired single "Så længe jeg er sexy". The song went straight into the Danish Top 10, where it has remained ever since. Our Nordic neighbours have also opened their eyes to Annika and her meteoric career. Right now, Danish music history is being made in Norway, where ‘Så længe jeg er sexy’ was the most streamed song on the Norwegian Spotify chart for several weeks in a row.

Annika will play her biggest concert to date at Store VEGA in May. The concert comes after a whirlwind year where thousands of fans have queued to get their hands on her first show at Ideal Bar.
