With her ethereal vocals, vulnerable lyrics and captivating presence, Icelandic songwriter Bríet invites the listener into a musical universe where melancholy and raw pop magic merge.

Last November, she released the EP Act I. The EP introduces listeners to a new dimension of Bríet's musical universe. The six songs take a melodious dive into Americana and country, building a beautiful bridge across the Atlantic.

The EP is the first in an upcoming trilogy. Each EP reflects Bríet's different moods, characters and soundscapes, and through the releases the listener will learn new sides of Bríet's songwriting talent.

Bríet's music is like the Icelandic landscape: beautiful, magnificent and at times mercilessly honest. She manages to balance the intimate and acoustic with big, cinematic pop productions. Whether singing in her native tongue or in English, her vocals cut through the marrow and bones with a unique nerve.

Her breakthrough album, Kveðja, Bríet (2020), was a regular sensation in her homeland, and singles like “Rólegur á pabba” cemented her position as one of the Nordic countries’ most exciting and visionary songwriters right now. Her songs revolve around the wanderings of love, heartbreak and transformation – delivered with a vulnerability that feels like a candle in the dark.
